The World Has Lost a Great Man ,Kevin Lyng,Known to his friends as 1 wing lyng,a friend, a mentor to all. .Everyday I wake up I will wonder where and how is my friend. We All Love you Mr Kevin. SIR
You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back or you can open your eyes and see all he’S left behind.
Your heart can be empty because he can’T see you or it can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he’S gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what he’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Greetings......Having moved to Rosemere, Kevin acquired many new friends. They came from many walks of life. Few connected with education. Kevin enjoyed his retirement as it allowed him time to do what he wanted and at the pace he wished. A small part of his retired life was a daily visit to the local watering hole were he gathered with buddies who dropped in after their day's work: tradesmen, sales reps, medical people, accountants, even the odd member of the cloth.I was part of that group and will always cherish watching a man who was a true educator blend in with those who worked and lived a different life style.
In his retirement Kevin became a newshound. Read at least two newspapers aday and had the TV set to all the news channels the cable offered. His knowledge of current events served us well as he was often called upon to referee many discussion amongst the " experts".
His friends addressed him as "one wing Lyng".I assume the connection had to do with the family name. Many still do not believe that we are really Irish. The other likelihood is that having enjoyed his first beer, Kevin would announce that one cannot fly on one wing, as he called for another cold one.
Once a teacher, always a teacher. Even in retirement Kevin maintained the habit of having special "pets". One of them was Michael Blachford,(Hotdog). Hotdog has put together a tribute to who he called the "Big Guy". Click on the link.......allow time for the music to load.
Kevin will be missed by many. There is an empty chair at the local that is going to be hard to fill.
By the way Kevin wore many hats: husband, father, principal, army officer, football player and trainer, and was even known to paint the odd room.
Kevin.......save us a chair at the round table where you now act as referee.
If Anyone has pictures of Kevin that they would like to share send them to emichael@videotron.ca and I will publish them.
